Resolution adopted authorizing amended and restated county deeds to Building Better Communities of South Florida, Inc., allowing conveyance of three county properties to affiliate Javon Gardens LLC, and granting a two-year extension to July 29, 2028, to obtain final certificates of occupancy for multi-family rental units for very low-, low-, or moderate-income households. The properties were originally conveyed for single-family homes under the Infill Housing Program, but use was changed to multi-family rental units via Resolution R-124-24. The extension granted by R-124-24 expires July 29, 2026. Building Better Communities cited uncontrollable delays including completion of surveys and inability to secure financing on its own as justification. The Board authorized the County Mayor or designee to take all actions necessary, including exercising the County's reversionary interest if deed restrictions are not met. Proper signage identifying the County and district commissioner must be placed on the properties.
