The Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-675-26 (File Number 260583) on July 21, 2026, authorizing amended and restated County deeds to Building Better Communities of South Florida, Inc. for three properties in County Commission District 9. The resolution permits the transfer of these properties to Javon Gardens LLC, a joint venture between Building Better Communities and Pyramid Construction, and grants a two-year extension to July 29, 2028, to obtain final certificates of occupancy for multi-family rental units to be rented to very low-, low-, or moderate-income households. The properties were originally conveyed for single-family homes under the Infill Housing Program, but a prior resolution (R-124-24) allowed multi-family rental units. The extension granted in R-124-24 expires on July 29, 2026. Building Better Communities cited uncontrollable delays, including completion of surveys, and its inability to secure financing on its own as justification for the extension and transfer request.
