CITY OF HOMESTEAD LICENSE AGREEMENT

Resolution approving a license agreement between Miami-Dade County and the City of Homestead for use of the parking lot of Harris Field Park, 1034 N.E. 8 Street, Homestead, Florida, for operation of a spay/neuter mobile unit by the Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department for $1.00 per year. The license term is one year with two one-year renewal options at the option of the City. The mobile clinic will be open to the public three times per week. The resolution was adopted on 7/21/2026. The property is in County Commission District 8. The City is responsible for utility costs including water, sewer, and electricity. The County has no record of negative performance issues with the City of Homestead. The agreement was already adopted by the City Council, Resolution No. R2026-05-98. The prior agreement was approved by County Resolution No. R-1045-21. The mobile clinic will provide sterilization services for County residents and their pets. The operation will have no direct fiscal impact to the County. The City of Homestead is responsible for maintenance of the land around the trailer and monthly utility costs. The Animal Services Department is responsible for maintenance of the mobile clinic's exterior and interior, janitorial and custodial services, and trash disposal.
