DEMOLITION OF ARTHUR MAYS VILLAS PUBLIC HOUSING DEVELOPMENT

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to authorize the County Mayor to submit a demolition application to HUD for a portion of the Arthur Mays Villas public housing development site, consisting of 147 units, and to authorize demolition subject to HUD approval. The project is in District 9, represented by Commissioner Kionne L. McGhee, who is the Prime Sponsor. Public meetings with residents were held on November 28, 2018, December 4, 2018, August 5, 2022, July 29, 2020 (virtual), and July 25, 2023. The Department plans additional meetings with former residents and will work with community stakeholders through the Goulds Forward Choice Neighborhoods Initiative (CNI).
