Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-636-26 (File Number 260314) on 7/21/2026, approving a land exchange between Miami-Dade County and the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). The County will receive five fee simple parcels (Parcels 2, 5, 7, 8, and 11) totaling 1.318 acres from SFWMD, located along the west right-of-way line of SW 157th Avenue between SW 42nd Street and SW 26th Street, required for roadway improvements to SW 157th Avenue. In exchange, the County will convey a 3.889-acre tract of County-owned land to SFWMD, bounded on the north by SW 26 Street, the south by SW 28 Street, the west by SW 173 Avenue, and the east by SW 172 Court, located within the Bird Drive Basin. Both properties are appraised at $175,000.00. The County property is declared surplus, and both parties elect not to reserve mineral rights. The resolution authorizes the County Mayor or designee to execute the Exchange Agreement and accept conveyance, and the Chairperson or Vice-Chairperson to execute the County Deed.
