Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-636-26 (File Number 260314) on 7/21/2026, approving a land exchange agreement with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). The County will receive five fee simple parcels (Parcels 2, 5, 7, 8, and 11) totaling 1.318 acres from SFWMD, located along the west right-of-way line of SW 157th Avenue between SW 42nd Street and SW 26th Street, needed for roadway improvements to SW 157th Avenue. The project involves widening SW 157 Avenue from SW 42 Street to SW 26 Street to a four-lane roadway with raised medians, sidewalks, drainage, and lighting. Funding for design, construction, and right-of-way acquisition is estimated at $26,593,000.
