EXCHANGE PROPERTY BETWEEN COUNTY AND THE SOUTH FLORIDA

Miami-Dade County approved a land exchange with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). The County will receive 1.318 acres of SFWMD-owned land, identified as Parcels 2, 5, 7, 8, and 11, valued at $175,000.00. This land is required for roadway improvements to SW 157th Avenue. In exchange, the County will convey 3.889 acres of its own land to SFWMD. The County property is bounded by SW 26 Street (north), SW 28 Street (south), SW 173 Avenue (west), and SW 172 Court (east). Both parties elected not to reserve mineral rights. The project involves widening SW 157th Avenue from SW 42nd Street to SW 26th Street to a four-lane roadway with associated improvements. The total estimated cost for the roadway project's design, construction, and right-of-way acquisition is $26,593,000.
