Ordinance changing the boundaries of the City of Florida City, Florida, to annex the unincorporated area referred to as Area J, with approximate outer boundaries on the north by SW 328th Street (Southwest 7th Street), on the east by SW 192nd Avenue, on the south by SW 344th Street, and on the west by SW 199th Avenue. The legal description is the West 1/2 of Section 23, Township 57 South, Range 38 East, together with the East 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 22, Township 57 South, Range 38 East, in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The annexation was requested by the City in Resolution No. 21-43. The ordinance was adopted on first reading on July 21, 2026, and set for a public hearing before the Intergovernmental and Economic Impact Committee on September 10, 2026. The ordinance includes conditions for County retention of utility tax revenues, residential garbage and refuse collection, jurisdiction over certain declarations of restrictive covenants, and areas and facilities of countywide significance, and requires the City to pay $1,709.71 for stormwater bond debt service. The ordinance is effective only upon execution of an interlocal agreement.
