Ordinance changing the boundaries of the City of Florida City to annex unincorporated Area J, with boundaries on the north by SW 328th Street (Southwest 7th Street), east by SW 192nd Avenue, south by SW 344th Street, and west by SW 199th Avenue. The legal description is the West 1/2 of Section 23, Township 57 South, Range 38 East, together with the East 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of Section 22, Township 57 South, Range 38 East, Miami-Dade County, Florida. The ordinance reserves utility tax revenues to the County, retains County residential garbage and refuse collection and disposal, requires payment of outstanding debt service of $1,709.71, retains County jurisdiction over certain restrictive covenants and areas and facilities of countywide significance, and has a contingent effective date. Adopted on first reading on 7/21/2026, set for public hearing before the Intergovernmental and Economic Impact Committee on 9/10/2026 at 10:30 a.m. File Number 261266. Prime Sponsor Kionne L. McGhee. Applicant is the City of Florida City, which submitted an application on September 15, 2021, and adopted Resolution No. 21-43. The Board adopted Resolution No. R-658-25 on July 1, 2025, directing the County Attorney to prepare the ordinance. The ordinance is effective only upon execution of an interlocal agreement and within 180 days of adoption, otherwise void.
