Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution authorizing a no-cost Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department (MDFR) and the Public Health Trust of Miami-Dade County. This MOU establishes a partnership for Advance Tactical Medical (ATM) Training for all MDFR paramedics, including members of Urban Search and Rescue Florida Task Force 1 and the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Special Response Team. The training will take place at the Ryder Trama Center and includes classroom education, cadaver workshops, and hands-on patient care. The agreement has an initial term of five years with two five-year renewal options. The Board of County Commissioners approved the resolution on July 21, 2026, after it was forwarded with a favorable recommendation from the Safety and Health Committee on June 8, 2026.
