Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-659-26 (File Number 260755) on 7/21/2026, approving acceptance of a $925,000.00 donation from the Center for Biological Diversity, Miami Pine Rocklands Coalition, South Florida Wildlands Association, and Tropical Audubon Society to the Environmentally Endangered Lands Management Trust Fund for management and acquisition of pine rocklands. The donation is expressly earmarked for acquisition or management of undeveloped pine rocklands in Miami-Dade County. The EEL Program manages over 1,636 acres of pine rocklands and has over 415 acres of pine rockland habitat on its Acquisition List. The program has acquired approximately 24,217 acres of land in Miami-Dade County since inception through November 30, 2025. The EEL Program manages over 29,000 acres of natural area preserves.
