Ordinance approving, adopting, and ratifying non-ad valorem assessment rolls, rates, and assessments for the Solid Waste Collection Service Area of Miami-Dade County, Florida, commencing October 1, 2026. The typical full-service residential household assessment remains at $702 annually, representing a 0% increase from Fiscal Year 2025-26. The proposed 2% Consumer Price Index adjustment was not approved at the May 5, 2026 Board meeting. The assessments range from $178 for properties receiving access to Trash and Recycling Centers only to a maximum of $702 for properties receiving the highest level of service. The ordinance was adopted on first reading on June 16, 2026, and adopted on final action on July 21, 2026. The ordinance authorizes the Department of Solid Waste Management to continue collecting the existing assessment rates through the property tax bill. Service reductions will be implemented on October 1, 2026, and are anticipated to have a measurable social equity burden, as all Service Area customers will be affected equally based on their level of service.
