Miami-Dade County Commission adopted a resolution granting Florida Power and Light Company (FPL) a non-exclusive underground utility easement within Zoo Miami to support the construction of a new Zoo Miami Animal Hospital. The easement allows for the installation, operation, and maintenance of underground electrical facilities. FPL will pay $10.00 for the easement and is responsible for all costs associated with the utility installation and maintenance. The easement area is a portion of County-owned land managed by the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces (PROS) Department.
