Resolution approving and authorizing the County Mayor or designee to execute Commercial/Industrial Demand Reduction Rider Agreements between Florida Power & Light and Miami-Dade County for the South and Central District Wastewater Treatment Plants' Electrical Distribution Buildings #2. The agreements authorize FPL to temporarily disconnect power during emergency conditions or capacity shortages while WASD operates backup generators, in exchange for an incentive credit of $9.75 per kW. Estimated annual savings are approximately $51,000 at SDWWTP and $68,000 at CDWWTP. WASD will install electrical configuration upgrades at SDWWTP EDB-2 at an estimated cost of $40,000, expected to be recovered in less than one year.
