Resolution calling a countywide special election in Miami-Dade County, Florida, to be held in conjunction with the General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, to submit to electors the question of whether to amend the Home Rule Charter to make changes due to the reestablishment of elected County Constitutional Offices. The amendment addresses the reestablished offices of Sheriff, Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, and Supervisor of Elections; clarifies duties of Clerk and County regarding finance and budget; and requires County employees to take leave of absence when running for an elected constitutional office. The Charter Review Task Force voted ten in favor and zero against recommending the referendum. The resolution was amended on 7/13/2026; the amended version is in Legislative File No. 261315. A scrivener's error correction was noted on 7/9/2026, replacing 'R-255-24' with 'R-225-24'.
