Resolution approving the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens 2026 Master Plan, including the proposed relocation of Villa Serena to Vizcaya Village. The site is 50 acres. The plan includes preservation of existing historic buildings and development of new structures and landscapes, including a large community-based agricultural space. Villa Serena, the 1913 home of William Jennings Bryan, would be relocated from its nearby site on Brickell Avenue to an undeveloped space in Vizcaya Village, surrounded by a grove of ornamental and fruiting trees. The relocation would be fully funded by philanthropist Kenneth C. Griffin, who also pledged a separate $5,000,000.00 endowment to the Trust for Villa Serena's long-term care, programming, and public access. The resolution directs the Commissioner of District 7 to conduct due diligence and negotiate an agreement with Mr. Griffin, provided there is no cost to the County.
