Resolution approving an amendment to the FY 2026-30 Five-Year Implementation Plan Update of the People's Transportation Plan (PTP) to retroactively include the Purchase of 40-Foot Buses for I-95 Phase I and II project (CIP145), funded in part by Charter County Transportation Surtax Funds. The project involves the purchase of fifteen (15) 40-foot diesel and compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses for I-95 Express Bus Service routes between Broward and Miami-Dade Counties. The fiscal impact is $3,896,702. The Transportation Committee forwarded it to the BCC with a favorable recommendation following a public hearing on 7/14/2026. The Board agenda date is 9/1/2026. The buses were purchased with FDOT grant funds and placed into service in January 2017, routes were discontinued in March 2020, and DTPW issued a reimbursement payment of $3,896,702 to FDOT on January 12, 2026, using DTPW's Operating Fund. Retroactive inclusion authorizes the use of PTP capital funds to restore DTPW's operating fund resources.
