Lake County Schools (LCS) is planning to offer a dedicated, hidden Wi-Fi network for School Resource Officers (SROs) and School Resource Deputies (SRDs) on district property. This network will be exclusively for official agency or district-related activities. All regulated data must be transmitted securely through agency-managed VPN connections and cannot be stored on LCS networks. Agencies are responsible for setting up and maintaining their VPNs to meet security rules. LCS can stop Wi-Fi access if a device seems to spread harmful software or threaten the network. This project involves setting up secure network access and VPN connections for law enforcement personnel within schools.
