The City of Palatka is working with the Skeet Club on an environmental cleanup project. The Skeet Club is removing lead pellets from the grounds at the water plant, city gun range, and their own facility. This effort is currently funded by the Skeet Club. As part of this agreement, shooting will not occur on lanes 1 and 2 in the direction of the water plant. This item is currently under review. The project involves site cleanup and remediation. This work could create opportunities for contractors specializing in environmental cleanup, site remediation, and waste disposal. Early engagement may be beneficial as plans are finalized.
