Palm Beach County is planning a significant expansion of Water Treatment Plant 2 (WTP 2). This project involves constructing a new 30 million gallon per day (MGD) membrane plant, along with plant expansion and hardening. Key elements include new pre-treatment systems, a membrane building, chemical systems, clearwells, air scrubbers, ground storage tanks, pumping systems and buildings, electrical and instrumentation controls, and wellfield expansion with raw water main installation. The project is currently under review, with Phase 1 focusing on pre-construction services like constructability reviews, cost estimating, and value engineering to prepare a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for future construction.
