The Pasco MPO is undertaking an update to its Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) for the year 2050, with activities planned from July 2026 through June 2028. This comprehensive plan will guide transportation needs and investments across all travel modes and facilities in Pasco County for the next 25 years. The update includes developing strategies for an integrated multimodal transportation system, enhancing pedestrian walkways, and bicycle facilities, and addressing current and future transportation demand. The project involves creating a Congestion Management Process (CMP) report, maintaining the CMP database, and integrating freight objectives. Preliminary multimodal corridor studies will be conducted to estimate costs and environmental impacts of proposed improvements. This planning effort will set the stage for future transportation projects, including potential infrastructure improvements, system resiliency measures, and safety strategies. Local contractors, suppliers, and service providers are encouraged to engage early in this planning process, as it will define the scope and requirements for future construction, engineering, and related services.
