The Pasco County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Board is planning new safety initiatives within its transportation planning efforts. These activities aim to address rising transportation fatalities by analyzing crash data, identifying trends, and conducting field safety audits. The MPO will also coordinate with the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and participate in various safety trainings and committees. Additionally, efforts will focus on developing economic development plans that support a multimodal transportation system and advancing the planning for micromobility options. These initiatives are planned to take place from July 2026 through June 2028. This early stage in the planning process presents opportunities for contractors and service providers. As the MPO develops its strategies and plans, there will be a need for services related to data analysis, safety planning, event coordination, and potentially infrastructure needs for micromobility.
