The Pasco County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is developing a comprehensive Freight Plan to improve freight movement within the county. This plan, a partnership between the MPO, Florida Department of Transportation, Pasco County, and the local freight industry, will guide future decisions for a more efficient and reliable freight network. The project involves updating the countywide freight planning framework, reassessing needs and opportunities, and refining recommendations for freight-related projects and policies. This work is planned to take place over the next two years, from July 2026 to June 2028. The scope includes extensive outreach to the freight community and meetings with freight providers and economic development groups. Local contractors, suppliers, and service providers in areas like transportation planning, economic development consulting, and potentially data analysis or research could find opportunities. Engaging early in this planning process, before specific projects are identified and funded, offers the best chance to influence and compete for future work.
