The Pasco MPO is undertaking an update to its Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) for the next 25 years. This plan will guide transportation needs and investments across all travel modes and facilities in Pasco County. The update process includes developing a Congestion Management Process Report, maintaining the congestion management process and database, and preparing materials for MPO Board and Committee meetings. It also involves implementing and maintaining the LRTP, integrating freight objectives, and performing project management for the multimodal county-wide plan. The project scope includes developing long-range and short-range strategies for an integrated multimodal transportation system, participating in regional modeling efforts, and conducting preliminary multimodal corridor studies. Additionally, it will incorporate a Safe Systems Approach, develop a safety and security plan, review local regulations, produce active transportation, freight, and transit elements, and improve system resiliency. This update is currently under review and planned for completion between July 2026 and June 2028. This early stage presents an opportunity for contractors, suppliers, and service providers in areas like engineering, planning, data analysis, and project management to engage before specific bids and permits are finalized.
