Pasco County MPO is planning for freight movements within the county and is working with the Florida Department of Transportation, Pasco County, and the Pasco County Economic Development Council. This effort will result in an updated countywide freight plan, which will guide future programming decisions. The plan update will reassess freight needs, identify opportunities for system growth, and refine recommendations for freight-related projects. It will also update policies and strategies to support economic development through efficient goods movement and improve coordination between freight transportation and land use planning. This project is currently in the planning and development phase, with the plan expected between July 2026 and June 2028. The work will involve extensive outreach to the freight community and meetings with freight providers and economic development groups. Businesses involved in transportation, logistics, economic development consulting, and related services may find opportunities as this plan develops and informs future projects.
