The Pasco MPO is undertaking an update to its Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) for the year 2050, which guides transportation needs and investments over a 25-year period. This plan will include strategies for an integrated multimodal transportation system, focusing on pedestrian walkways and bicycle facilities to ensure safe and efficient movement of people and goods. The update process involves developing long-range and short-range strategies, conducting preliminary multimodal corridor studies to estimate costs and environmental impacts, and creating a safety and security plan element. The project is currently under review and is planned for development between July 2026 and June 2028. This initiative will involve significant planning, data analysis, and coordination, potentially leading to future infrastructure projects. Local contractors, suppliers, and service providers are encouraged to engage early to understand the scope and potential needs as plans develop, before formal bids and permits are issued.
