Pasco County is reviewing a comprehensive analysis of its behavioral health and recovery-oriented system of care. This review, submitted to the Pasco County Opioid Taskforce, identifies community strengths, service gaps, and strategic opportunities related to mental health, substance use, homelessness, and recovery support. The analysis was informed by stakeholder interviews, community listening sessions, a visit to a local program, an online survey, and reviews of local data and documents. The findings highlight significant needs compounded by population growth, housing instability, workforce shortages, and transportation barriers. The review is currently under consideration, informing long-term planning and potential investments. This process could lead to projects focused on expanding housing, improving transportation access to services, enhancing recovery support, strengthening crisis response, and increasing workforce capacity. Local contractors, suppliers, and service providers in construction, trades, and related support industries may find opportunities as specific projects are developed based on these recommendations. Early engagement is advised as plans and funding are determined.
