The Polk County Planning Commission met to review several development proposals and plan updates. Several local business opportunities were discussed, including a mixed-use development at County Road 54 and Old Polk City Road, a 50-home development near Main Street and Oak Avenue, and a 112-acre mixed-use project called Berkley Crossings PD. Other projects under review include the Kathleen Government Center, a commercial development on Socrum Loop West, and a RACX Vehicle Service facility. These projects may create future work for land clearing, grading, civil engineering, surveying, utility installation, concrete, paving, framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, and building material suppliers.
