St. Lucie County is planning a new nature preserve called St. Lucie Woods Preserve. This project aims to create an interactive nature experience for individuals with sensory challenges, including those with Autism-Spectrum Disorder, as well as the general public. The preserve will be located on a 33-acre site and will feature elements like an Infinity Trail, interactive exhibits, a Welcome Center, a Kayak Landing, and a Magic Meadow. The project is currently under review, with initial site improvements like the entry, fencing, driveway, parking, and basic infrastructure planned for Phase 1A, followed by the trail and interactive stations in Phase 1B. Future phases may include additional interactive elements and amenities. This project presents an early opportunity for contractors, suppliers, and service providers in site preparation, grading, concrete, paving, utility work, framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, and specialty exhibit fabrication to engage with the county and its partners before final plans and permits are issued.
