A. St. Lucie County will host three Tire Amnesty Events to provide residents a way to recycle unused

Board of County Commissioners Regular Meeting · 2026-05-19 · agenda_item

St. Lucie County is planning three Tire Amnesty Events to help residents recycle old tires at no cost. These events aim to reduce mosquito breeding grounds by removing tires that collect water. Residents can bring up to six tires without rims, each 26 inches or smaller, to any of the three scheduled events. The county is hosting these events to provide a convenient and free recycling option. The first event is on May 23 at the Baling & Recycling Facility, the second on May 30 at the Paula Lewis Branch Library, and the third on June 13 at the Mosquito Control and Public Works Compound. This initiative will involve site setup for collection, tire handling and sorting, and transportation for recycling. Local businesses involved in waste management, logistics, and event support could find opportunities to provide services for these planned events.
