The Fort Pierce Jetty Project is planned to begin soon, following the nearing completion of the South County Beach Renourishment Project. The South County Beach Project, a coastal storm risk management effort, has been underway for about six weeks and is funded 100% federally due to Hurricane Nicole impacts. The Fort Pierce Jetty Project involves mobilizing equipment, including dozers and a barge, to place sand on the northernmost portion of the beach. The jetty itself will be temporarily closed from March 21st to March 27th for mobilization and initial sand placement. This project is expected to involve site clearing, sand placement, and dune planting. Contractors, suppliers, and service providers interested in this upcoming civil construction work are encouraged to reach out early, as planning and permitting are still in progress, offering an advantage before bids are finalized.
