The City of Melbourne Planning and Zoning Board will hold a public hearing on May 7, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. to consider a Finding of Consistency (FOC2026-0005), a Zoning Text Amendment (TEXT2026-0005), and a Land Development Regulations Text Amendment (TEXT2026-0006). The proposed amendments involve changes to City Code, Chapter 50, Article III, Section 50-53 (Permitting); Ordinance No. 2005-120, amending City Code, Part III, Appendix B, Article IX, Section 6 (Formal Site Plan Review); and amending Part III, Appendix D, Chapter 3 (Concurrency), Article X (Mobility), Sections 3.102 and 3.103 (Payment in Lieu of Construction of Mobility Improvements). Additionally, amendments are proposed to Chapter 8 (Subdivisions and Platting), Sections 8.4, 8.5, 8.6, and 8.7 (Definition of Terms, Procedure for securing approval of subdivisions, Required Improvements, and Residential Subdivisions Requesting Expedited Building Permits); and Chapter 9, Article VII, Sections 9.107 (Design Standards) and 9.275 (Invasive Non-Native Species); and Chapter 10, Article I, Sections 10.01 (Short Title and Intent), 10.03 (Time of Payment), and 10.09 (Impact Fee Agreements and Security Requirements). The applicant is the City of Melbourne. The meeting will take place at City Hall Council Chamber, 900 E. Strawbridge Avenue, Melbourne, FL 32901. Public comment is scheduled as part of the agenda.
