Miami-Dade County is proceeding with improvements to SW 268 Street, spanning from US-1 to SW 139 Avenue. This project involves road widening, beautification, and right-of-way acquisition for Parcel 1. The estimated cost for design, construction, and acquisition is $12,739,000. The Transportation and Public Works Department is overseeing the project. The Board of County Commissioners is set to consider a resolution on 7/21/2026 to declare the acquisition of Parcel 1 a public necessity, authorizing the County Mayor or designee and County Attorney to acquire the property through negotiation, donation, purchase, or eminent domain.
