REIMBURSEMENT FOR DISCONTINUED I-95 EXPRESS ROUTES
Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering a resolution to authorize the use of $3,896,702.00 from the Charter County Transportation Surtax Bond Program. These funds will reimburse the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) operating fund for a payment made to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The payment covers the depreciated value and unauthorized mileage associated with 15 diesel-powered buses originally purchased for the discontinued I-95 Express Bus Service routes (Routes 195/295 and 196/296). The buses were redeployed to other routes after the service was discontinued in March 2020 due to declining ridership and bus operator shortages. This redeployment was inconsistent with FDOT grant requirements. The reimbursement is part of a larger FDOT request of $9,658,133.83 for 28 buses. The project was added to the FY 2026-30 Five-Year Implementation Plan of the People’s Transportation Plan. The Transportation Committee forwarded the item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation. The Citizens' Independent Transportation Trust (CITT) review is required.

REMOVING ROW DESIGNATION NW 9 AVENUE AND BOB HOPE ROAD
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering a resolution to remove the public road right-of-way designation from a portion of county-owned property at the intersection of NW 9 Avenue and Bob Hope Road, south of NW 15 Street. This action is requested by the Department of Transportation and Public Works to enable the sale of the parcel to the University of Miami for future development. The property is located in Section 35, Township 53 South, Range 41 East. The removal is necessary because a separate road closing petition for the adjacent NW 9 Avenue is pending with the City of Miami, which would incorporate that land into the University of Miami's property. The Transportation Committee forwarded this item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation on June 9, 2026. The BCC agenda date is July 21, 2026.

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to authorize a designated purchase for Contract No. BW-10026, Transit Performance Analysis Software.
