REMOVING ROW DESIGNATION NW 9 AVENUE AND BOB HOPE ROAD

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering a resolution to remove the public road right-of-way designation from a portion of county-owned property at the intersection of NW 9 Avenue and Bob Hope Road, south of NW 15 Street. This action is requested by the Department of Transportation and Public Works to allow the University of Miami to acquire the parcel for future development. The property is located in Section 35, Township 53 South, Range 41 East. The Transportation Committee forwarded this item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation on June 9, 2026. The BCC agenda date is July 21, 2026. The removal of the designation is a prerequisite for the County to sell the land at full market value, and it is necessitated by a separate road closing petition for the adjacent NW 9 Avenue segment initiated by the City of Miami. This action will enable the University of Miami to unify adjacent properties for development.
