Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is considering a resolution to remove the public road right-of-way designation from a portion of county-owned property at the intersection of NW 9 Avenue and Bob Hope Road, south of NW 15 Street. This action is requested by the Department of Transportation and Public Works to enable the sale of the parcel to the University of Miami for future development. The property is located in Section 35, Township 53 South, Range 41 East. The removal is necessary because a separate road closing petition for the adjacent NW 9 Avenue is pending with the City of Miami, which would incorporate that land into the University of Miami's property. The Transportation Committee forwarded this item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation on June 9, 2026. The BCC agenda date is July 21, 2026.
