Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to authorize an additional five years and $184,000,000.00 in expenditure authority for Prequalification Pool No. FB-01645P, Rail/Mover Parts and Services, for the Department of Transportation and Public Works. This extension aims to ensure the continued maintenance and operational readiness of the Metrorail and Metromover systems by providing access to necessary equipment, components, parts, and maintenance services. The pool, originally established on October 5, 2021, has an existing cumulative allocation of $113,621,000.00 and will have a modified cumulative allocation of $297,621,000.00 if approved. The extension is recommended to maintain uninterrupted support of rail operations, allowing for both corrective and preventative maintenance. The pool remains open, with ongoing outreach to identify and add qualified vendors, including aftermarket parts suppliers. Currently, there are 37 active pre-qualified vendors, with 11 having local addresses, including two certified Small Business Enterprise firms. Any contract award under the pool exceeding $5,000,000.00 will require ratification by the Board. The Transportation Committee forwarded this item to the Board with a favorable recommendation.
