B. Development Standards: New mining districts, expanded mining districts, and expanded mines must be located, designed, and operated to be compatible with surrounding private and publicly owned lands with special considerations given to surrounding conservation and residential districts. Mining activities will be subject to the following design standards. The Board of County Commissioners may adopt modified conditions of approval pursuant to the Planned Unit Development standards of this LDC when in the public interest and expressed in formal findings of fact.
