The City of Fernandina Beach is reviewing plans for traffic circulation and parking improvements within the Waterfront Community Redevelopment Area (CRA). This review is part of a larger Waterfront Master Plan aimed at supporting development and implementation in the downtown area. The project scope includes potential improvements to Front Street, such as addressing railroad crossings and adding sidewalks, as well as filling in approximately 18,000 linear feet of missing sidewalks throughout the downtown area. Other considerations involve improving parking lot access and developing a wayfinding program. This item is currently under review, indicating an early stage in the public process.
