The City of Fernandina Beach is reviewing plans for a new city-owned boat ramp project. This project is currently under review by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. The proposed improvements include a commemorative plaza with coquina shell paving and a brick border, a shade structure with seating and plantings, a paver plaza with decorative pavers and raised planters, an event lawn, border plantings, continuation of existing magnolia trees and decorative fencing, civic flagpoles and plaques, an open pergola with swings overlooking the marina, a bike rack, and light poles. This project is in the early planning stages. Work could involve site clearing, grading, paving, concrete, landscaping, and the installation of various structures and amenities. Local contractors, suppliers, and service providers are encouraged to engage early to understand the project scope and potential opportunities as plans develop.
