A new development is planned for the Highway 231 North Corridor, requiring significant utility infrastructure upgrades. The project involves the construction of a 12-inch watermain to the property, reconnecting sections of an existing 16-inch watermain, and installing a reuse irrigation main, collectively known as Watermain Improvements. Additionally, a sewer forcemain will be installed, including connecting gaps in the existing line to a proposed wastewater treatment plant site. The City requires these improvements to be constructed during the initial phase of the development. The owner is responsible for all costs of the watermain work, while the City will reimburse the owner for reasonable costs of the sewer forcemain. This project is currently under review as part of a development agreement. The scope includes site preparation, underground utility installation for both water and sewer, and potentially paving and final connections. Local contractors, suppliers, and service providers in site prep, grading, concrete, plumbing, and general contracting could find opportunities. Early engagement is advised as site plans, bids, and permits are being finalized.
