The City of Panama City Commission is reviewing the structure and appointments of City Boards. This review includes discussions about creating a trust fund for cemeteries and forming a Cemetery Board. Additionally, there is a proposal to revive the Martin Luther King Jr. Advisory Board and research the formation of a Community Organization Partner for Downtown North and Millville. Staff has been directed to research cemetery management, potential cession of cemeteries, and recommendations for the MLK Jr. Advisory Board, with a report expected within 60 days. The Port Authority Board member appointment process will also be aligned with the Planning Board appointment process.
