The City of West Melbourne is reviewing a proposal to revive its Beautification Award program. This program aims to recognize businesses that make significant efforts to improve their properties for the benefit of the community. Past recognized efforts included painting buildings and adding new landscaping. The program has been inactive since 2023, but the Mayor and Board are considering new categories for new construction and renovations. The City Manager will address this with the Council. This initiative is currently under review, with potential for new criteria and award categories to be developed. This project could lead to opportunities for contractors and suppliers involved in site preparation, grading, landscaping, painting, and general property improvements. Businesses that can offer services related to enhancing commercial properties are encouraged to engage early to understand the program's direction before formal plans are established.
