Clay County Board of Commissioners approved the General Construction Fund Grant Contract for the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) Remodel Project. The project involves renovating and converting space at the West Central Regional Juvenile Center into a PRTF. $1.2 million in state funding was authorized during the 2025 Minnesota legislative session. The project will be forwarded to the Finance Committee, with Facilities Director Joe Olson and Solutions Behavioral Health Director of Grants and Special Project Steve Summers involved in decisions. Clay County Board of Commissioners approved participation in an application process for a Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Private Well Protection Grant. The grant aims to promote private well testing for households relying on well water. The application will be submitted on behalf of Clay, Norman, and Polk Counties, with Norman County leading. The grant funding is from the Clean Water Fund and will cover testing for arsenic, coliform bacteria, lead, manganese, and nitrate.
