The Manatee County Planning Commission met on April 16, 2026, to review planning and zoning items. The meeting covered updates, approval of past minutes, and public comment. One application, The Surf RV Resort, was withdrawn. The commission reviewed two zoning requests: Cheyanne Preserve Phase II, a residential project, and a rezone with amended GDP for Villages of Amazon South. These zoning items could lead to future work for civil engineers, surveyors, land clearing and grading crews, utility contractors, and building material suppliers, but no construction is open yet.
