Resolution approving a First Amendment to a Land Exchange Agreement between Miami-Dade County and the District Board of Trustees of Miami-Dade College. The County conveys 48,456 square feet (County Parcel, portion of Folio No. 01-3135-061-0010, located at 1851 NW 9th Avenue, Miami) to the College, in exchange for the College conveying 48,102 square feet (College Parcel, portion of Folio No. 01-3135-106-0010, located at 1000 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami) to the County. The amendment removes the closing condition requiring the Public Health Trust to obtain a DERM Letter (No Further Action Letter) for environmental remediation, modifies the environmental remediation provision, modifies the closing date definition, defines the effective date of the First Amendment, and requires post-closing cooperation on information exchange. The original exchange was approved by Resolution No. R-1098-24 on December 3, 2024, and the Exchange Agreement was effective January 6, 2025. The First Amendment was introduced on 7/7/2026, amended by the Safety and Health Committee on 7/13/2026, and is pending BCC assignment. The Public Health Trust requires the College Parcel for parking to support its new Emergency Department at Jackson Memorial Medical Center. The County Parcel is operated by the Public Health Trust. Both parcels are in County Commission District 3. The resolution authorizes the County Mayor or designee and the Public Health Trust to execute the First Amendment.
