This document is an ordinance amending Chapter 14 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida, relating to fire prevention and life safety. It was introduced on March 3, 2026, and subsequently withdrawn. The ordinance proposed numerous updates including definitions, owner's statements for fire investigations, appeals procedures for fire code violations, operating permit requirements, recording of consent agreements and notices of violation, owner notification upon correction of violations, authorization for utility disconnection for pending fire code violations, technical amendments to the Florida Fire Prevention Code, updates to the false fire alarm ordinance, provisions for the sale of exempt fireworks, designation and posting for structures sharing a street address, emergency action plans, testing and maintenance of exit and emergency lighting, reporting of fire protection system maintenance, emergency power systems, and water supplies for firefighting outside the urban development boundary. It also included modifications to civil penalties. The Safety and Health Committee withdrew the ordinance on June 8, 2026, referencing Substitute Legislative File No. 261040.
