Southeast Florida logged 5,674 new business filings for the week of May 11-17, a touch above the prior week and well ahead of the same week last year.

The region recorded 5,674 new business filings this week, 78 more than the prior week. That is a small step up.

Management of Companies grew the most this week, 75 more (up 19.4%). Property Holding & Asset Protection dropped the most, 77 fewer (down 10.1%). Several smaller sectors also grew.

Miami-Dade led the region this week with 2,947 new filings. Gains were broad, with 6 other counties also up from the week before.
