The City Commission of DeLand approved the first reading of an ordinance changing the zoning for approximately 1.90 acres at 600 North Woodland Boulevard from E-1 (Educational) to DeLand Atrium PD (Planned Development). The project is a vertical mixed-use space with no plans for redevelopment, and it is expected to generate fewer than 1,000 vehicle trip ends per day. Parking requirements are satisfied. The Museum of Art - DeLand expressed support for the request. Additionally, the Commission approved the first reading of an ordinance annexing approximately 25.44 acres located south of Orange Camp Road and west of the I-4 Interchange. This annexation also involved a Comprehensive Land Use Plan Map Amendment to City of DeLand Highway Commercial (HC) and a zoning change from Volusia County B-6 (Highway Interchange Commercial), BPUD (Business Planned Unit Development), and A-2 (Rural Agriculture) to City of DeLand C-2 (General Commercial). No public comments were made regarding the annexation, land use, or zoning changes.
