Adelle Avenue; 109 Kensington Rd.; 338 Clake Street; 635 Bert Fish Drive; case Ordinance 2026-14; Ordinance 2026-15; Ordinance 2026-16; Resolution 2026-31; Resolution 2026-32; Resolution 2026-33] The City Commission approved the second reading of Ordinance 2026-14, annexing 25.44 acres south of Orange Camp Road, west of the I-4 Interchange. They also approved the second reading of Ordinance 2026-15, changing the land use for approximately 22.43 acres in the same location from Volusia County Commercial and Rural to City of DeLand Highway Commercial (HC). Additionally, Ordinance 2026-16 was approved on its second reading, rezoning the same 22.43 acres from Volusia County B-6, BPUD, and A-2 to City of DeLand C-2 (General Commercial). The Commission also approved the first reading of an ordinance to change the zoning for approximately 2.02 acres at 1500 S. Adelle Avenue from Springwood Town Homes PD to R-16 (Multiple-Family Dwelling), with a second reading anticipated on July 6, 2026. A special exception for vehicle sales and rentals at 109 Kensington Road was approved via Resolution 2026-31. Demolition of a residential structure at 338 Clake Street was approved via Resolution 2026-32. Demolition of a historic commercial structure at 635 Bert Fish Drive was approved via Resolution 2026-33, with Mayor Cloudman abstaining from the vote.
